Pay transparency and listing rules

What every Nevada listing must disclose — pay range, commission terms, workplace and W-2/1099 status — and what we do when a post falls short.

You should be able to decide whether a job is worth your time before you apply. That is why pay and basic working terms are mandatory on this board, not optional extras.

The rules at a glance

  • A minimum and maximum pay amount, plus the period: hourly, monthly or yearly.
  • For commission roles, the commission rate and how often it is paid — stated in the description as well as the fields.
  • Onsite, remote or hybrid, chosen by the employer.
  • W-2 employee or 1099 independent contractor.
  • An honest description of the actual role. No “unlimited earnings”, lead-buying schemes, pyramid or MLM recruiting, or fake openings.

What a compliant range looks like

“$32–$40 per hour” is clear. “$65,000–$80,000 per year” is clear. “DOE”, “competitive pay”, “salary negotiable” and “based on experience” are not ranges, even when a number appears elsewhere in the ad.

For commission-only roles, the employer must still show a realistic on-target earnings range and explain the commission rate and payment frequency. A commission job is welcome here; a vague one is not.

How the board checks listings

Every new or edited listing runs through deterministic policy rules and, when an AI provider is configured, an AI review for vague or misleading language. Rules failures block publishing; AI findings are reviewed by a person.

Listings are checked on a twice-daily schedule as well, so a post that was edited after publishing is re-examined rather than grandfathered in.

If something looks wrong

Use the report link on the job page and choose the closest reason: missing or vague pay, wrong classification, wrong workplace label, misleading description, scam, or discrimination. Add the exact wording you saw. Reports are reviewed by the board team, and your email is optional.

Common questions

Is a pay range required even for salaried roles?

Yes. Enter the annual range and select “year”. Hourly and monthly roles use the same fields with the matching period.

What if the employer says the range depends on experience?

They can still publish the range they are willing to pay. If the posted range is misleading, report it with the details.

Still need help?

Report a specific listing from its job page. For account or resume problems, include the email on your account.
